Just for fun
For entertainment. Please don't use it in a vehicle or in a way that could be mistaken for real emergency services, and obey your local laws. Police Lights is a toy light show, not a safety device or a replacement for real lights or warning equipment.
Photosensitivity
This app shows bright, fast-flashing lights, which may trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. If you or anyone nearby is sensitive to flashing lights, use Gentle mode for slow, soft color changes, or don't use the app. Stop right away if you feel unwell.
Questions, answered
Is Police Lights free?
Yes. The download is free, with 7 light patterns, the flash LED, one-press start, Gentle mode and siren previews included. There are no ads. An optional one-time Plus purchase unlocks extras.
What's in Plus? Is it a subscription?
No subscription. Plus is a one-time purchase of $2.99 (US) that adds 11 more patterns, 7 full sirens, speed control, custom colors, light bar size, an auto-off timer, 4 alternate app icons and everything we add later. It works with Family Sharing.
How do I restore my Plus purchase?
On a new device or after reinstalling, open the Plus screen in the app and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it.
How do I add it to Control Center or the Action Button?
Control Center: swipe down from the top-right corner, tap + (or press and hold an empty area), tap Add a Control and choose Police Lights. Lock Screen: press and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then replace one of the bottom controls with Police Lights. Action Button (on iPhone models that have one): go to Settings → Action Button, swipe to Controls and pick Police Lights. You can also say “Start Police Lights” to Siri or use it in the Shortcuts app.
Why doesn't the flash LED blink?
A few common reasons: most iPads don't have a flash LED; the flash may pause for a while if it gets too hot; and it can't be used while another app is using the camera. The flash also stays off in Gentle mode. Make sure the flash button on the light screen is turned on, then try again.
Is it safe for people with photosensitive epilepsy?
The app shows bright, fast-flashing lights, which may trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. If you or anyone nearby is sensitive, please use Gentle mode, which changes colors slowly and softly, or don't use the app. Gentle mode turns on automatically when Reduce Motion is on in your device's Accessibility settings.
Can I use it in my car?
No. Police Lights is for entertainment only. Please don't use it in a vehicle or in a way that could be mistaken for real emergency services, and obey your local laws.
Does Police Lights collect my data?
No. There's no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and the app works offline. Your settings stay on your device. Read the privacy policy.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo with iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later. It works in any orientation and in any iPad window size, and on iPhone Duo it uses both halves of the open screen.
